One thing western governments should be doing, but are not, is preventing unscrupulous organizations from dangerous and fraudulent activities having a devastating effect on populations and economies at the national and international level. The Financial Crisis and the Global Warming and the Swine Flu scandals are, of course, the prime examples of this. Why is it taking so long to right the wrongs and set up safeguards to prevent similar occurrences in the future?
While smaller banks are failing due to the recession, the larger banks at the root of the Financial Crisis are still doing business thanks to the bailouts using taxpayer’s money, which are still occurring. Bonuses are being enjoyed and they are investing again, not to stimulate economies but for their own profit.
Western governments are still spending extravagantly on non profitable enterprises such as foreign aid to corrupt regimes and illegal wars. Economies are further being undermined by the printing of money to stave off inflation which can only lead to more inflation in the long run.
As I understand it, the only way an economy can grow is by restoring the financial balance. Workers and businesses must be encouraged to save money through the banking system and the banks to reinvest in the economy. In other words the free market should be allowed to act. Instead of overtaxing the population in times of economic recession governments should help by reducing direct taxation to stimulate growth. Companies will be encouraged to produce in their own countries instead of, as now, moving to countries where cheaper labor is available, an imbalance that is threatening many western economies.
Developing nations are, as ever, being exploited to the detriment of all but an elite few.
In the European Union (EU), where power is now effectively in the hands of ruling elite of 27 members, several countries are now approaching financial collapse due to government incompetence. The other member states will have to help pay the costs of revival and with little or no economic growth this will only lead to more general inflation.
Everything western governments have done since the recession began is playing into the hands of an elite wanting to set up world government, which can only be accomplished by reducing the power of nations. The first step is the setting up of regional governments such as the EU. There are moves to set up a similar North American Union and an Asian Union.
Such a world government would almost certainly have to be oppressive in order for a small minority to control a population of billions. No doubt they already have solutions in mind.
