“I’m a lonely little bunny,
please don’t hurt me sitting here.
I’ve gone and lost my Mummy,
now I’m waiting with some fear.
I’m sure she’ll soon come looking, well,
I hope so anyhow,
and should you show some pity
she’ll be grateful, that I vow.”
“If you’ve got a piece of carrot
or some lettuce would be fine,
perhaps a little water
just to still this ache of mine.
But leave me be if that’s your wish,
I’m sure I will pull through,
for Mummy must be now quite near,
perhaps with Daddy too.”
I found her in the morning,
all curled up and oh so still.
I’d fed her, given water,
brought her inside from the chill.
But there she lay not moving,
somewhere Mummy sat in grief,
with Daddy close, to comfort,
but no one to bring no relief.
