A hilltop reaching to the clouds
That tells the wind where it should go
And calls to those who would ascend
Their world on soaring wings to show
I climb the winding path on high
And pause at times to stand and gaze
Across the land, the fields and woods
Now shrinking in a gentle haze
And then I’ve almost reached the top
I stop and turning look below
One other climbing on the path
Perhaps we’ll get to say hello
So quiet here near summit’s crown
I sit and peer into the sky
Where small clouds drift that seem so near
A buzzard hovers, still, close by
The short grass flutters in the breeze
A small flower, yellow, hiding there
Under a rock that shelter brings
Perhaps where others have their lair
A hat appears held down by hand
A summer dress climbs into sight
A small dog runs its tail to chase
And everything just seems so right
I fall back, hands behind my head
And breath the freshness deep within
I feel at one with Nature sweet
As if all time must now begin.

ahhh while reading this ive transcended content.im 20 now,ive lived in vancouver (a big city but you probably already know that) my entire life.ive always loved the city and i always wanted to move to NYC when i was older, but as of lately i really miss nature.the peace of mind,oh how serene it is,just staring up into the eyes of the sky.i miss this dearly.i think its time for a vacation, one not in the mind O:
Hi freshtodeath,
I’m also a city boy but I now live in the country and don’t regret it for a minute. The nearest big city is three quarters of an hour away by car and that’s near enough for me. The city is where thought is in its element. It feels somewhat insecure in the country where Nature exerts her influence.
Have a nice vacation.
Regards,
Jan
